Snow Removal

If your mailbox was damaged by the Township snow plow and the damage was not caused by moving snow, the township will repair or replace it at its option after an inspection by the road maintenance supervisor. A swing away style mailbox is designed to minimize the risk of damage from plowed snow and is what is suggested.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the Board of Appeal and Equalization for the Township of Bergen, McLeod County, Minnesota, will meet at the Lester Prairie City Hall, 37 Juniper Street, Lester Prairie MN at 7 o'clock P.M. on Wednesday, the 3rd day of April, 2019. The purpose of this meeting is to determine whether taxable property in the jurisdiction has been properly valued and classified by the assessor and to determine whether corrections need to be made.

If you believe the value of classification of your property is incorrect, please contact your assessor's office to discuss your concerns. If you are still not satisfied with the valuation or classification after discussing it with your assessor, you may appear before the local board of appeal and equalization. The board shall review the valuation, classification or both if necessary and shall correct it as needed. Generally, an appearance before your local board of appeal and equalization is required by law before an appeal can be taken to the county board of appeal and equalization.

Bergen Township Notice Of Meetings

January 1, 2018

Notice is hereby given that: The 2018 Bergen Twp Reorganizational Meeting will be held on Monday, January 8th, 2018 at 6:30pm at the Lester Prairie City Hall.

The date of the January 2018 Bergen Township Regular meeting has been changed to Monday, January 8th 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Lester Prairie City Hall.

Township related info is posted online at www.BergenTownship.com. The Bergen Twp. Board meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Lester Prairie City Hall. However, June 8th, 2018 will be located at the Bergen Town Hall.

Notice is hereby given that the date of the November 2017 Bergen Township Regular meeting has been changed to Wednesday, November 15th 2017 at 7:00pm at the Bergen Town Hall.

Notice of Annual Meeting

Notice is hereby given to the qualified voters of Bergen Township, County of McLeod, State of Minnesota, that the Annual Town Meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. In case of inclement weather, the meeting and election may be postponed until the third Tuesday in March. The Annual Meeting will commence at 7:00 PM to conduct all necessary business prescribed by law at the Bergen Township Hall, 16595 Babcock Ave. Lester Prairie, MN.
